From the OBN President
I hope this message finds all of you, and the ones you love is good health. As 2014 came to a end we saw major changes in the BASS Nation, changes of the magnitude we haven't seen since BASS and TBF split several years ago.
BASS and the BASS Nation have made significant changes in the way the we qualify anglers for the BASS Nation Championship. These changes include a change from six divisional tournaments to three regional events. (I have included a map of the Regions). Currently we send a twelve member sate team, two high school anglers, two alternates, and a boat captain to the Northern Divisional. Under the new format we will send ten anglers, ten co-anglers, two high school anglers , two alternates and a boat captain to the Central Regional.
I could fill several pages with all the details. Over the coming months I will do my best to provide all more information regarding this topic.
Another major change is regarding a one rate for club dues payable to the BASS Nation. Effective September 1, 2015, clubs will pay one rate ( $360.00) for the entire club and all its members. This change will have a negative impact on some of our clubs. Rest assured., I and your Board of Directors are committed to see that no one will be left behind due to this change.
It is my belief that the above changes are initiatives put forward by BASS to grow the Nation's membership. And to insure that fishing with the BASS Nation and the Ohio BASS Nation,as we chase that dream of earning a spot in the BASSMASTER Classic, is a positive, competitive, and rewarding experience for all.
I am looking forward the upcoming season. As well as spending with good friends. My plans are to do a lot more fishing this year. I will be looking for you on the water.
